Bull Falls Meeting Minutes for March 13, 2003

Hereford & Hops

Mark Strelow opened the meeting by having Mike Z. give Ted Sander’s treasure report since he was unable to attend. The club has $331.99 in the bank. Ted indicated that any bills that need paying should be submitted and he will get them paid. Dues for club members will collected in April. Bring your wallet!

Rod Mydem suggested using some of our dues to acquire name tags for club events. Joanne Flood is looking into pricing on baseball hats, T-shirts and sweatshirts. Although one member prefers not have our club logo on the sweatshirt.

Bill indicted he may have hops for sale this year…

Kevin has finished brewing a Stout which he will have on tap early next week. The new beer I believe, if I heard correctly has been brewed to be similar in gravity and character to Guinness Stout.

Kevin also completed the last in a series of Sensory Evaluations for the club. Last nights faulty/funky examples were from beer that tastes from old and stall hops and the other example we looked at is the taste in beer that comes from wild yeast. A pat on the back and thanks to Kevin for providing his time and talents to the club on this project.

Matt Seliger passed out Version 1.0 of the club brochure and it looks good. He put out a call for historical club information and possible photos or artwork that could be used in the brochure. Anyone able to contribute should contact Matt.

Future meeting topics were discussed but nothing was selected or decided on. Mark indicated that if club members have a brewing process or topic that they would like to present the club would welcome the presentation.

On a personal note I’m proud to announce a new addition to my family. On March 5th 2003 Julia Adeline Zamzow was born. That makes 5 girls one wife and myself. Needless to say I am sadly outnumbered, but loving it still. I am able to make meetings though unlike one member who makes a lot of fruity beer has children and disappears. Hello Doug!
