Minutes from Bull Falls Brewers Meeting August 14, 2003
The August meeting was called to order by our
president Mark Strehlow. 13 members present. Mark started the
meeting off by handing out labels for the beer everyone brought in and
evaluation forms for everyone to critique the beers or wines that were brought
in.
Brochure: The sample brochure was passed
around for everyone to see.
Logo: We discussed finalizing a logo so we
could put the logo on the glasses to use as prizes for the festival. The
cost of the glasses with a logo was more costly than the club wanted to commit
to.
Festival: Bill mentioned Briess would send
some freebees over when we have a count of entries for the festival. He is
also looking into Hop Union as a company to be featured at the festival.
The brewfest is set-up with judges and the location. Mike Roman set-up the
festival requirements for the festival. We talked about having businesses
from the area set-up a display at the brewfest. If a
business wants to bring a display they should contact Mark so he can
make sure there are enough tables available. Jill, Duane and Matt
and I are in charge of getting posters to area businesses. The number and
type of bottles was discussed. **A motion was made
to have bottles of 12-22oz size without any labeling and indentifiable markings
and that flip top bottles are acceptable in green or brown, and that at the next
meeting the rules regarding next years fest wil be discussed and posted.**
We had a discussion. The motion passed. Mark will email clubs
with fest information. Jeff said members should bring
equipment in for display. **A
motion was made to purhase handled 4oz glasses to give to the first 144 people
who came to the festival. We had a discussion. The motion passed.**
Duane is going to handle get the glasses from a distributor at Country
Aire.
Prizes: Jeff Berens suggested that we get
some exotic beers to give out as prizes. Mark said he would check into
Hereford & Hops to see what kind of prizes we could get. Tickets to
the Ice Cold Beer Fest in Minocqua was another prize suggested.

back
