Bull Falls Brewers Meeting Minutes for January 8, 2004
Hereford & Hops
On January 8th, we had our annual holiday dinner for
the club at Hereford & Hops. Fun was had by all. 21 members were
present. Our newest member the Dahnke's brought their rye beer which they
grew and malted the rye themselves. Kevin brought in two samples of beer
from the brewery for everyone to try.
After dinner both Mark and Bill talked about what
the club meetings will entail for the new year. The winter months,
September through May, we will switch off months with topics on beginning
brewing and advanced brewing. The summer months will be more laid
back. We would like everyone to post ideas they have for topics and look
for material to aide the presentation.
With Ted Sanders concentrating on recovering from
his medical set backs, we are looking for someone to take over that post.
Matt and I have agreed to take on the secretary post.
Along with the great meal last night, there were
several items up for raffle. A t-shirt with the new club logo, two
Hedtke's gift certificates, two 1-pound canisters of grain from Briess, a polo
shirt from Briess, two Hereford & Hops pint glasses, a beer kit from
Hedtke's, and Mark donated two glasses that he brought back from Germany.
Congratulations to all you lucky winners.
Everyone present at last nights meeting also was
given a bottle of apple wine made from some of the juice from the 2003 Apple
Fest.
Many thanks go to Mike Roman for the design and
continued updating of the club web site. Also for Mike on the design of
the club logo. We are now able to purchase logo wear.
Many thanks also go to Joanne Flood for getting
t-shirts to show off the great logo for this weekends Ice Cold Beer
Fest.
