Minutes from Bull Falls Brewers Meeting October 14, 2004
The October meeting was called to order by our President Mark Strehlow. 16 members were in attendance.
Mike Krause from the Point club came to our meeting. It was brought up that we might have a sanctioned event with BJCP judges. It was also suggested that we have craft brewers at the event. Point offered to hold the event since they have more room. It was also suggested that we enter a club brew from all the clubs involved. The ingredients needed to brew a batch of beer would be put in a hat. Each club would draw the ingredients needed and a recipe must be made up with the ingredients. A certain percentage of each ingredient must be used in order for this to work. These beers would be in their own category at the event.
Mark Strehlow is going to attend the Point meeting this Thursday. Scott Burton and Matt Seliger agreed to go too. Mark agreed to drive as long as they meet at Mark's house. The meeting starts at 7:00p. Tom Z. said he would try to go, but would use his own transportation.
The brochure was brought up. The final draft has not been sent on to Joanne to print.
November 6 is Teach a Friend to brew day. Matt and I agreed to host this event. We will start at 9:00a for those that want to start then. Ed Heckendorf said he would arrive at 9:00a. All-grain brewers are encouraged to arrive at 9:00a. This will be an all-day event, if you plan on brewing, please arrive no later than 2:00p. The main course for lunch and supper will be provided, this is yet to be determined. Please bring a dish to pass (i.e.--salad or snack). This will be in our garage. Because of the brewing, it will likely be warm from the knees up, winter boots might be a good idea since the floor is cemented. We have a limited number of chairs, it would be appreciated if you could provide your own.
Our excellent presentation for the month was given on growing and malting grain by Brett Danke.
See you all on November 6.
