Minutes from Bull Falls Brewers Meeting May 11, 2006

Mike Zamzow was not present to take minutes this evening, and we didn't bother to appoint someone else to do it in his abscence.  This report is my best memory of the evening.

President Bill Flood called the meeting to order.  There were approximately 10 members present.

Treasurer Brett Danke was not present, therefore we did not have a treasurer's report.

Bill Flood and Mike Roman discussed the Golden Growler event.  It was considered a success overall.  Bill indicated we may have actually made a little money ($100+) on the day.  We'll get an official report next month (hopefully) from our treasurer.  Results of the GG are on the website.  Thanks to everyone who helped with the event and congratulations to the winners.  If you have suggestions on how to improve the GG please share them with Mike, Bill, and/or Brett.  They will pass them on to the Waupaca club who are holding the event next year.

The summer schedule was discussed.  The club will attempt to put a "Big Brew" together in June, probably brewing a robust porter. There was discussion on how and where to obtain a large amount (3 - 5 gallons) of yeast for the brew.  Bill will check with White Labs and Hereford & Hops, otherwise people may just have to bring their own.  Details of the event will be posted on the listerv and website when they are available.

The other summer meetings may be held in Marathon Park.  Most members agreed that worked out very well last summer and was a nice change from being indoors all the time for meetings.  Meeting topics were not discussed.

There was mention made of Stevens Point's Summer Solstice brew event.  (I don't recall the date or the results of any discussion)

Travis Skroch demonstrated how to wash yeast.  He actually washed a yeast cake from a brew he racked the night before.  Links to the info Travis got to present this evening are

The meeting was closed.  Sharing of brew and socializing went until about 10pm.

Respectfully submitted,
Travis Skroch
