Minutes from Bull Falls Brewers Meeting March 8, 2006
Bull Falls Home brewers Meeting Minutes
Location: H&H Blue Room
Attendance: 17
Annual Dues were collected...many contributed for the good of the
cause, so if you did not, don't forget. Everyone's dues make it
possible to keep the wheels turning.
Mike Roman started things off by talking about the upcoming Golden
Growler competition. Same competition with a few changes one such
change is that the winning club will be determined by a club's total
points for there three entries. That would be different form last year
and makes it more of a team event.
Next month our club judging will take place, please plan to arrive at
6:30 sharp. Approximately a dozen beers will be narrowed down to three.
Those bringing entries should bring 4 bottles. Contestants should have
8 to 10 bottles prepared in case theirs are selected to advance and as
happened last year some entries ended up on the floor at Saloon Dubay
so extra is good.
In the peoples choice competition any bottle color or type will be
accepted. Entries will be entered in 10 different categories and
personal favorites selected.
T-shirts are order on your own and need to be ordered in advance. There
will be no club involvement in shirt purchases. I believe a sample
picture of the shirt has been sent in email by the Point people.
Next meeting our club needs to select three beer styles for entry into the "hat" for next years style selection ceremony.
Elections were held and the winners are:
President: William Flood
Treasurer: Brett Danke (Note: Mark Strewlow withdrew , the vote was tied, Brett declared winner by default)
Secretary: Travis Skroch
Congratulations to our new officers! There was some talk after the
meeting about adding a Vice President position for fill in and for
helping out.
Travis Skroch talked about his brew experience at Central Waters
brewery. He has dibs on 15 gallons of Yeast slurry from his batch
brewed at Central Waters. The executive committee will work through
finding a place where we can have a group brew to take advantage of the
fresh yeast supply. On a follow up note, by the end of the night it
appeared that a place had become available. Since the place was
volunteered that night we will withhold the name and location until the
volunteer can confirm and an official announcement can be made. Stay
tuned!
Mike Roman talked about a beer tasting coming up in Milwaukee on June 2nd that the club might want to attend.
Brett Danke presented Northern English Brown Ale samples for judging. Thanks Brett for the excellent presentation.

Bill volunteered to get dinner rolls lined up for next months Northern English Brown Ale judging.
The club ordered a couple of appetizer plates from Hereford & Hops.
Eventually those left drifted to the bar to talk beer and watch
basketball.
